2004 Domaine Bachelet Chassagne Montrachet 13.0%
Pleasant aromas of oak, white flowers and, curiously, smoked ham. Fresh mouth feel, excellent body, lovely bitter finish. A touch too much oak, at least at this point in its evolution, to be perfect for me, but if I keep in mind that their mission statement is not to please my moving target palate as it stands in March of 2010, this comes off as the platonic ideal of a fine white village burg. Very fine (sounds like I'm grading stamps or coins).

Stamps and coins are both rather platonic.

I like your comment about the oak, as one would suspect they have some mid-term ambitions with this wine.

Oswaldo, does this just say Domaine Bachelet? Is it Bernard? I don't think Denis makes white.

Aaargh, I was afraid you'd ask because I left the bottle at a friend's house and the other two are in NY.

I have to sit down one day and straighten out the difference between Ramonet, Bachelet, and Bachelet-Ramonet, not to mention possible pairs under each name.
